BODY NOSTALGIA

BODY NOSTALGIA

Body Nostalgia is a collaborative project with Atypical that explores the power of scent to evoke memory in the body. Bringing together artists from different disciplines, the work investigates how olfactory experiences can shape movement and connection. Through four distinct aromas, the project examines how scent can generate new forms, gestures, and angles within the body.

SEDIMENTO

SEDIMENTO

Sedimento is a photographic project that explores the symbiotic yet conflictive relationship between humans and the Argentine Delta, seen as spaces of memory, transformation, and healing.

Through interaction with mud, water, and sedimentary islands, the work reflects on the traces humans leave in nature and those the environment imprints on us—bodies and landscapes entwined in acts of reconciliation.

Each image captures the tension between erosion and regeneration, accumulation and renewal, proposing the Delta as both wound and possibility of healing, where human bodies too become sediment: shaped by time, marked by place, and carriers of memory.

BENDING NARRATIVES

BENDING NARRATIVES
Australia, 2025

Bending Narratives is a performance project in collaboration with Atypical that weaves a dialogue between body and nature, exploring fragmentation and the deconstruction of boundaries.

Bodies bend, dissolve, and merge with the landscape, questioning the limits of both form and flesh. The work opens a space of experimentation where shapes are dismantled and reassembled, suggesting new ways of inhabiting and narrating the environment through vulnerability, openness, and transformation.

MICROWORLDS

MICROWORLDS
Córdoba, Argentina

Microworlds is a project that reveals the universal within the infinitesimal, where vastness is embodied in detail.

The fracture of the stone echoes the body, and the immensity of the earth unfolds in the quiet corner of a river.

Biography

Maria Eugenia Solla (b. 1986, Buenos Aires) is an Argentine visual artist and documentary
photographer whose practice explores the relationship between the body, the
environment, and narrative. Trained as a Fashion Designer at the University of Buenos
Aires, she also studied at the University of São Paulo (History of Photography and Digital
Photography) and completed a postgraduate degree in the Sociology of Design (UBA,
2013). Her research investigates how bodies communicate their stories through image
and space.

Her photographic education includes training with Juan Travnik, Alberto Goldenstein, and
Andrea Chame (UBA, 2016), where she developed her first visual project on transgender
subjects. Further studies include Politics of the Pose (CIA, 2016) and Anthropology of the
Image (UNA, 2019).

For more than twelve years, she has worked as a freelance photographer for Argentine
fashion and design brands, while developing independent documentary projects. At SUB
Cooperativa she created Sedimento, a performance and nature-based series nominated
for the LOBA Leica Award (2025). In 2021, she received a Mecenazgo grant for Cuerpa, a
platform promoting women and gender-diverse documentary photographers, which
resulted in an exhibition and website.

Her work has been recognised with Second Prize in Banco Ciudad’s Gente de mi Ciudad
competition, publication in Revista Dislexia, and participation in the Migra Art Book Fair.
She continues to create projects merging photography, performance, and landscape,
seeking new ways to translate embodied experience into visual narratives that resonate
locally and internationally.
